Soft–Rigid Microrobot Design Visualization

Microrobotics is an emerging field enabling new possibilities in medicine and scientific research. In this project, we worked with ETH Zurich to create visualizations of a microscopic robot designed with both soft and rigid structural components. The design concept focused on enabling controlled bending through flexible segments while maintaining structural stability through rigid elements. This hybrid structure allows the robot to perform complex movements and potentially operate in delicate environments such as within the human body. Our role was to translate the conceptual idea into a detailed 3D representation that clearly communicated the design and functionality of the robot. Using advanced modeling and rendering techniques, we developed high-quality visuals that highlighted the device’s structure, flexibility, and mechanical behavior. The final deliverables were used by the research team for publications, presentations, and other scientific documentation. The project was completed in collaboration with Designing Alley for ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
